about us
We are part of the second generation of the
family Najar Eguiluz seated in the valley of Tambo
(Punta de Bombon), province of Islay, department of
Arequipa - PERU. Our father, Engineer Carlos
Enrique Najar Paredes and his wife Bertha
Eguiluz de Najar, begin this story of tradition
and love of the countryside in the late 70s with
their first agriculture project.
We are committed to provide the best foods
and at the same time always preserve our
planet with effort, passion and technological
innovation. In order to accomplish this
commitment, since several years ago our
company (GRUPO NAJAR®) has made
innovative and unique initiatives, which have
been recognized and rewarded by important
public and private entities. Thus, in 2013, we
were awarded by the Peruvian Ministry of
Environment (MINAM) as the top winner of
the Award for Eco Efficient Businesses 2013
("Premio a la Eco eficiencia Empresarial 2013")
because of our project about the installation
of an Hydroelectric Plant driven by a
Waterwheel at our ecological factory located
in the "Hacienda El Pino". The innovation and
uniqueness of the project was because of the
use of a huge and classic Waterwheel instead
of a modern Hydraulic Turbine, not only for
the classical beauty granted by the Waterwheel,
but because this ancient technology does not
require water damming for operation (and for
that reason its impact in our environment is null,
in comparison with the modern Hydraulic Turbines).
It is important to know that The United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
entered into force in 1994, aimed at reducing
greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere.
The Conference of the Parties (COP) was
designated as the supreme governing body of the
Convention. This important international Conference
has been celebrated in many countries like Germany,
Swiss, Japan, Canada, etc. since its beginning. In
December 2014 the COP20 was celebrated in Lima,
Perú and in the context of this international
Conference, The Peruvian Government recognized
companies that are leaders in environmental
performance as they have shown significant
and positive contributions related to the
impact on climate change. Then, the
Peruvian Ministry of Environment (MINAM)
awarded our company with the National
Environmental Award 2014 ("Premio Nacional
Ambiental 2014").
In addition, for these achievements related
to the world of ecologic food industry,
our company has been recognized
and interviewed in several
prestigious communication media (TV
shows, newspapers and magazines of
economics and business).
With the use of our own generated energy,
we produce foods with care of the ecology,
preserving the beauty of the surroundings
making sure that each agro-industrial
installation does not harm the landscape
of our environment.
